3 - From our founder
David Chernick, actuary.
Actuaries are trained to find the thing everyone else is missing.
I grew up obsessed with why things work the way they do. Not just what the number is, but what it means, what it's hiding, and what happens next if you're wrong about it.
Actuarial training gave me a framework for that obsession: build the model before you form an opinion. The assumption everyone treats as obvious is usually the one that breaks everything. The most valuable thing I can tell a business is what their data is actually saying, even when it's not what they hoped to hear.
I spent over a decade doing that inside some of the largest financial institutions and technology companies in the world. Building behaviour change systems, loyalty programmes, pricing models, customer intelligence infrastructure. Always the same question underneath it all: where is the real leverage hiding, and what would it take to compound it?
The rigour didn't change. The problems just got more interesting.
